Mic Smith - Trumpet

About Me

Mic Smith, trumpet, received his formal orchestral training while attending the Peabody Conservatory. His teachers include Wayne Cameron, Ray Moore and William Vacchiano. His professional experience includes performances with the Baltimore Symphony and both the Broadway and National Touring companies of “Cats”. He has also been a sub for numerous Broadway productions in New York. In the commercial field, “Mic” has worked as lead trumpet backing up many performers such as: Frank Sinatra, Celene Dion, Pia Zadora as well as many others. He has also held lead trumpet positions on the Carnival and Dolphin Cruise lines. As an orchestral player, Mic works regularly with the Charlotte Symphony and Sarasota Opera as well as many other regional orchestras. Currently freelancing in the Tampa/Orlando areas, he enjoys a wide variety of work from recording studios, solo engagements, and various chamber/orchestral ensembles to commercial lead trumpet playing.
